BODY PROCEDURES
Dr. Mert Demirel approaches body procedures with a structured, anatomy-based plan aimed at balanced contouring and controlled refinement rather than dramatic change. Recommendations are individualized after an in-person evaluation, with clear discussion of candidacy, scarring, recovery timelines, and safety considerations.
Body contouring is not about chasing a trend or replicating a shape seen on social media. It is about understanding how your anatomy works — where volume sits, how skin behaves, where transitions define proportion — and making precise, controlled changes that respect your structure.
My Approach to Body Surgery
Every body procedure I perform begins with a structural assessment. The question is never simply “what does the patient want removed or added?” It is: what is the dominant mechanism behind the concern, and what is the most responsible way to address it?
Some concerns are fat-dominant. Some are skin-dominant. Many are a combination — and that distinction changes the entire surgical plan. A patient who needs an abdominoplasty is not the same as a patient who needs liposuction, even when the complaint sounds identical. Precision in diagnosis leads to precision in outcome.
I prioritise natural contour, smooth transitions, and long-term stability over aggressive change. A well-executed body procedure should not look “operated” — it should look like a more refined version of what was already there.
Procedures
- Abdominoplasty — Structural repair of the abdominal wall combined with skin and contour refinement. Not a weight-loss procedure — a reconstruction of form.
- Liposuction — Controlled fat reduction targeting localised deposits. Results depend on skin quality, tissue behaviour, and blending across zones.
- Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) — Autologous fat transfer to improve gluteal projection and proportion. A two-part procedure: donor contouring and recipient shaping must work together.
- Mommy Makeover — A combined approach addressing breast and abdominal changes after pregnancy. Every combination is individualised based on anatomy, not a fixed package.
- Lower Body Lift — Circumferential tissue removal for patients with significant skin laxity, often following major weight loss.
- Upper Arm Lift — Correction of excess skin and tissue along the upper arm, where skin quality and scar placement are critical planning factors.
- Thigh Lift — Inner or outer thigh contouring for patients where skin redundancy cannot be addressed by liposuction alone.
- Back Liposuction — Zone-based contouring of the back, focusing on smooth transitions rather than isolated spot reduction.
What I Want You to Know
Body surgery carries real biological variables — healing, tissue response, scar behaviour, and the natural limits of what can be achieved in a single stage. I discuss these boundaries clearly before any decision is made.
My role is not to convince you to have surgery. It is to help you understand whether surgery is the right answer for your specific anatomy and goals — and if so, to execute it with the precision and restraint that produce results you can trust long-term.
If you are considering a body procedure, a detailed consultation is the best place to start.
